Firmware Version: 1.4.6 Build 200628 Rel.56565n(5553)
Good afternoon
 
I bought an archer c80 router a few days ago, but I am unable to connect to a remote desktop from home to my work via a vpn whichs connects properly    what could be the problem? Do I have to open ports?

Hello,

 

How do you set up the VPN on your network or on the C80? The Archer C80 doesn't support VPN client settings, it only offers a VPN server (OpenVPN and PPTP).  However, it will operate by default as VPN passthrough using IPSec, PPTP, or L2TP.  All you have to do is have the client software installed on the client devices and the VPN be based in one of the 3 mentioned protocols.  

 

It is suggested to contact the VPN admin to confirm if it requires any special settings.

hello, the vpn configuration is in Windows 10 and it connects successfully. what is not working is the remote desktop. Could it be a ports problem?

Since I installed the router, the remote desktop stopped working on both my pc and my cell phone

I have the same issue, new C80, worked with my VPN straight away no problem, we had an NBN issue over the weekend, fixed today, now the VPN won't connect to my work. the VPN will connect via my phone USB no pobs. ISP spent hours trying to fix it, but getting nowhere. Can you help?

What is the detailed network layout, how is the C80 connected to the network, and where is the VPN server?

 

What are the settings on the C80? Please ensure the cooresponding VPN passthrough had been enabled on the C80:
