Model: TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 850rev7-eu-up-ver1-0-1-P1[20200731-rel64443].bin

I'm trying to use this as a hard wires access point.

Computer directly connected via cat6:

Device reset > set password > switch mode > Access point > Reboot

Following reboot, there is no active internet connection (of course, I'm directly plugged into the TL-WA850RE). I skip ahead to the WIFI option and my only choice is to enter or search for an existing host wifi?

I'm not sure how to proceed here, I want the TL-WA850RE to use the hard-wired connection and let me set up a wifi connection, but in AP mode it seems to still be trying to connect wirelessly and act as an extender?

@apeg

Good day.

Sorry for the delay.

If the 850RE was set up as an access point, the Ethernet port should connect to the home router, then provide wireless connection only;

And if the hardware connection is correct and there is still no internet from 850RE, please refer to the following suggestion:

  1. Check the IP address and default gateway on the mobile devices;
  2. What is the model number of the home router?

Thanks a lot.
