Model: TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version: V7
Firmware Version: 1.0.13 Build 231115 Rel.51785n (6582)

Hi there,

I have been using my WiFi Extensor connected to wireless network however I wanted to start using it with an Ethernet Cable (to increase speed in my upper floor)

I did the following:

1. I connected my Internet Router to a R45 Jack (Number 1) in the wall

2. That R45 Jack (Number 1) goes with a UTP cable inside the wall to another R45 Jack (Number 2) in the upper floor.

3. I double checked with a utp cable from Jack Number 2 to a computer and I have Internet (So connection is ok)

4. I connected the Tp Link Wi fi Extensor to the R45 Jack (number 2) with an Ethernet Cable.

5. I Switched from Wi Fi Extensor to Access Point following the steps on the user Manual (Section 4.2.1)

6. After I swtiched to "Access Point" the extensor started to reboot and then I´m getting an error and the browser goes to the following Screen.

Any thoughts on this issue? I did the process twice and I had the same error.

Thanks for your help and your support.

When configuring the RE in AP mode you can refer to this guide.

You can set a static IP address for the RE so its WebGUI can be accessed easily by its IP address (http://192.168.0.254 for example):

1. Where the RE IP address 192.168.0.254 is in your router subnet - 192.168.0.0/24.

2. Subnet mask says the same.

3. Gateway 192.168.0.1 is your router LAN IP address

4. Primary DNS could stay the same or you can put your router LAN IP address..

Afther this configuration you may reboot the RE and should have an internet access.

Just to add more info:

I finally was able to switch to Access Mode and I was able to Add my Wifi Connection in the Router Settings

After I finished setting everything I connected to the new Created Network  (worked), plugged the cable and I had no Internet Connection.

So, I was able to create the network but it is not working (Just to add, I tried to connect directly from Router to Extensor to check if there was a problem with the connection and is not working as well.

Hi

What is the current lighting status of the extender? You could refer to the following link:
