Model: Archer C5400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I am in doubt about exchanging the Archer C5400 for the Archer AX6000. Today, I have 36 devices on the network, one of which is a Philips Hue hub with 13 more devices. If I buy the AX6000 model, I will have 8 Gigalan ports on WIFI6, and occupy 7 of them. But I will lose one of the two 5GHZ networks, because the C5400 model is tri-band, and the AX6000 is dual-band. In this case, I will only have two notebooks with the AX function enabled(WIFI6 compatible), and the rest of the devices will connect to AC. The announcement of the AX6000 states that the possibility of the speed of the single network in 5GHZ is 4804 Mbps, but I would like to know if it is possible to achieve this speed with several AC devices, and not with the new WIFI6 technology. I would like to know if the AX6000 will work better with the equipment I have, even though it is dual-band, or if it is better to keep my tri-band AC5400 still. Here at home, in addition to the Philips Hue Hub, there are several WiFi LEDs, 04 video games, 4 smartvs, 3 cell phones, 3 Echos, 2 Google Homes, 2 Shields TV, smartwatches, infrared receivers, among others.

Hello, thanks for asking.

AX6000 is a Wi-Fi 6 router, which means you can get the maximum 4804 Mbps 5GHz link speed only when your wireless adapter is also a Wi-Fi 6 adapter. You will probably get 1733 Mbps 5GHz connection if it is an 11ac adapter.

If you want to keep the tri-band connection, it is suggested to keep using the C5400, as AX6000 doesn't support it.

I am very grateful for your response, Mr. Kevin. It was precisely the doubt that I had, even though I was so wordy. God bless you.
