RE 450 AC1750 Mobile Phone Connection
As far as I can tell the range extender is set up OK (using WPS) and is working well streaming with the TV; both 2.4 & 5.0 GHz lights and the main signal lights are blue. I downloaded the Tether app and this appeasrs to show both 2.4 and 5 GHz working OK too.
However, my wife and I are both finding the WiFi connection between our Moto G6 phones and the extender to be difficult & once made erratic in quality. Usually the phones seek the best WiFi signal and just connect without any fuss. In this case the connection often fails or after some time evetually connects.
What am I missing?

Hi,
Is the Motorola Moto G6 the only device having the instability issue?
Would both 2.4ghz and 5gzh cause the same issue?
And would there be any error message when the Motorola Moto G6 failed to connect?
Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Thanks,
This all happens when away from the main router, particularly when in my living room where the Extender is located.
The Moto G phones are by far the worse, though my Huawei tablet is a bit fickle at times; I was using a BT extender before with no problem. In general streaming on the TV in the same room has been OK.
The message is 'connection failed', though in some cases if I leave my phone for a while it often eventually connect but may then be unstable - particularly when streaming the TV.
FYI I have BT broadband: Download 29 Mbps Upload 8 Mbps.
In general when the phone connects it's at 5 GHz. Is there a way I can determine which speed it uses?

I have the Tether app where I can see the Router and Extender are connected and, as far as I can tell, both 2.4GHz and 5 seem OK - screenshot attached.
Firmware v 1.0.1 Build 20190124 Rel 56886
Hardware v RE 450 v3.0
I did look again and, if it helps, the message I get on the phone when it tries to connect is : "IP Configuration Failure", though sometimes after a while it does eventually connect.
Just to repeat the history:
- I set up the Extender using the WPS button on my BT router which went well.
- I then plugged the Extender into a socket in the living room and all the lights are on (i.e. I presume it's working) and it seems to work OK streaming with the TV. It is just that our mobile phones don't connect. My daughter recently visited and her iPhone woudn't connect either.
One final thought - when I set it up with WPS it has taken the same name as the Host Network router - is this a problem?
I'm very disppointed + this seems to way too complicated
Thanks for your help anyhow.
