Model: Archer VR2800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.3.0 0.9.1 v006c.0 build

I've set up the modem router following all the on screen prompts and used two different names for the two frequency bands. While I realise I can manually select a band for each device, if I set both names to be the same will it automatically select the best one to use for each device? I have read advice elsewhere that says you should name both frequencies the same but there's nothing in the TP-Link documentation about it. Is the VR2800 clever enough to auto-select? Or would it just be a random selection which could result in one frequency being overloaded?

Thanks,

Anne.

@AMcC

Hi Anne, this will depend on the devices themselves, and most clients will switch between the networks based on the signal strength.
