firmware upgrade/downgrade
Hi,
TL-MR6400 v5 couldn't recognize my SIM card, I tried a new published firmware 201113-rel63736, upgrade went smothly, but the SIM card wasn't recognised, and the interface get worse ("for testing only" watermarks, random errors).
I tried to downgrade to the previous version (200511 Rel.43036n) but the upgrade process shows an error on reboot:
Error code: 71211
Failed to upload upgrade file. Please select the correct file.
There is any method to downgrade to the previous version?
Thanks!

May I have the region version of the MR6400, is it an EU version or an APAC version? You may find it on its device sticker, thanks.
Meanwhile, please show us the firmware version on the web interface page.
As per the error message you experienced (error code 71211), it seems that you select a wrong file, please check again if you downloaded the correct firmware for your MR6400, you need to unzip the file first after downloaded.

Thank you for your reply!
This is EU version of MR6400.
This is the version string from the web interface:
I downloaded the old firmware from this link: https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202011/20201116/TL-MR6400(EU)_V5_200511.zip
And of course, unzipped, and the tried the upgrade with the bin file, from the zip:
filename: TL-MR6400v5_1.1.0_0.9.1_up_boot(200511)_2020-05-11_12.28.03.bin
length: 54610117 bytes
Do you have any suggestion?
Thank you!

As per all the info you have provided now, it seems it cannot be downgraded to the previous official version due to some unknown issue, which may occur during the firmware upgrade.
Back to the issue you are reporting, can you please verify if the SIM card cannot be detected by the router, or it can be detected but shows unidentified on its web interface? Please send us the screenshot of the Status page after you inserted the SIM card. You may refer to this troubleshooting guide to check some basic settings:

Thank you for your reply!
Yes, it seems, cannot be downgraded. Great (no).
I tried wth two different sim card, the problem was the same (Error code 1. Internal error), no screenshot available at the moment.
I read the posts you suggested, but I cant configure profile while the SIM card isn't recognized.
I bought a new router in the nearest store, the same model: MR6400, EU, v5.0, I put my SIM card, and works perfectly. A tried with another sim card it works perfectly also.
It seems to my SIM cards are working, I suppose that the first router is faulty, and the firmware upgrade made it worse.
I hope I can send it back to Amazon and I get my money back, despite the firmware upgrade.
But if you have have any other suggestion, I would be happy.
Thank you!

I see. If the upgrade process went properly during the upgrade process, and this is still in the return window, you may contact Amazon to request. While if it is not, you may check if you can get a replacement.
