RE305 internet status : Unknown
I bought a RE305. I have two wifi at my house. For one of the wifi network , it can perfectly extend it and work well. However for the other wifi network which is coming through a UniFi AP, it always show internet status unknown and there is no internet coming through the extended wifi network. That Unifi AP is broadcasting both 2.4 and 5 ghz through a combine wifi network. Therefore, when I scan it on my tp link , it only shows in the 2.4 network section. May I know what to fix to make the connection work. Also, I have tried other two brands other than TP Link and it works well with both of my Wifi Network. That is why I think the problem is between the TP Link and the Unifi AP. Please suggest any solution. Thank you.

@SSS999 Hello,
Thank you for your detailed post.
Please change UniFi AP's 2.4Ghz Wireless security to WPA-personal ( or WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK)
If tp-link failed to detect AP's 5Ghz WiFi, it is recommended to change AP's 5Ghz channel to 36,40,44,48 and see if that helps.
If possible, it is recommended to set up different SSIDs for UniFi AP' s 2.4Ghz& 5Ghz WiFi Bands to exclude the problem.
More important : verify 2.4Ghz WiFI password of AP/ router and make sure you have put in 100% correct Wi-Fi password during set up
If still the same problem, may I know the Led status on RE after the installation?
What is model of your UniFi AP and main router, how about your network topology? Please share us a photo of wireless settings on your UniFi AP as well,many thanks!

@Solla-topee Also I just found that in the TP Link RE305 log. It is saying DCHP detection fail. Could this be the problem? Thank you very much.

@Solla-topee Thank you very much. Once it detects the 5ghz network due to your advice of changing the channel, it is working perfectly now. THANK YOU.

@SSS999 Great, glad to hear that RE is working now!
DHCP Detection failed normally meansRE did not detect your router/ DHCP Server , at that moment make sure AP's network is stable/ have Internet access from AP.
Plaese kindly monitor the performance of RE and enjoy the internet ~
