Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.5

Hello,

I recently purchased the Deco X90 twin pack and I am experiencing unusually slow Wifi speeds on the main and satellite X90 nodes. I'm using Ting Fiber internet, and have confirmed 750~950Mb/s connected directly to the ONT, or to the 1Gb/s port on main X90 node.

Even when using a Dell 7490 with an AX200 WiFi6 card wih Windows 10 x64, speed tests from any vendor cap at 420Mb/s down, and 80Mb/s up. I confirmed from Windows I am connected at 5Ghz on channel 40, 1361/613 (Mbps) R/T Link speed. which of the two nodes I connect to does not matter, nor does how close I get.

I get similar if identical speeds with 802.11AC devices including two other laptops and a Google Pixel 3XL. I could understand AC speeds being slower, but not this slow.

The X90 units are using the Wifi Backhaul to connect to each other. I got similar speeds when only setting up the first node, too. All default settings as well.

Is this working as expected? Am I missing something? Let me know what other information I could provide. I really like the range and setup of these, I just want to get the speeds I should.

Thanks,

Gregory

@gstrain1

Hi, Could you please help me get the following information so that I could forward your case to the senior engineers directly;

1. the speed test result on the Dell 7490 laptop with an AX200 WiFi6;

2. the information of your PC’s network adapter from here: (For Windows PC only)

--Press WIN+R on the keyboard, type in “cmd” and enter, you will see a small black window.

--In the small black window, type in “ipconfig /all” and press enter, the information of your network adapters will be printed.

--Please copy the whole content of this window while contacting us, this information would be more helpful when troubleshooting this issue.

At the same time, please confirm the following settings:

1.Please remove QoS settings: Deco APP>>>QoS>>>(Set Application priority to Standard, Remove all high priority devices, set the Bandwidth to 1000Mbps upload and 1000Mbps download)

Thank you very much.

@TP-Link

I've included the needed information below via screenshot.

Regarding the QoS Settings, those are under the Homeshield section of v2.7.9. QoS is enabled with speeds set to 1000Mb/s Up and down with no high priority devices added. Disabling QoS has no effect on speed.
