Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20201023 rel.69987(5553)

Hi, Today TP-Link Tether App pop up Firmware update announcement, for malaysia local distributor official stock AX20(US) Ver:1.20 , but the firmware version, release date, build, change log, was for different version of hardware AX21(US) Ver:1.20, the firmware version, release date, change log, was the same from firmware release at TP-Link US website, but the Build version 16262 vs 12099 was different from firmware release at TP-Link US website. 
 

the router local web pages 192.168.x receive this update too, with the same firmware version, release date, build, change log, as in TP-Link Tether App. those that have default setting Auto Update Enabled would probably have their router firmware updated by itself, does it work? would it brick the router? not idea.

still using 1.2.0 Build 20201023 rel.69987(5553) firmware, while receive this, haven't manually update to Fixed the FragAttacks vulnerabilities. firmware that just released recently yet.

AX20 and AX21 are different models and pieces of hardware, the firmware for the two are independent, while the features on the two are similar, so the release note might be similar but distinguished by the build number. You can just update the firmware for your hardware, which is AX20.

TP-Link release this firmware at their website, does it include Fixed the FragAttacks vulnerabilities? Release Date and Build version doesnt seem like it does.

Hi, do you mean you can get the latest firmware update notice for an AX21 on the Tether app and on the web GUI of the AX20? Can we have the screenshot about this? Is there another AX21 in the network? Please also share with us the device bottom label of the AX20, you may cover the MAC and SN for any security concerns.

 

The new release Archer AX20(US)_V1.2_210304 doesn't include the fix for the FragAttacks vulnerabilities, which will be included in the next version.

the Firmware Update notice at Tether App and WEB GUI since few days ago have the same firmware version, release date, change log, as AX21(US) Ver:1.20 , but the Build version 16262 AX20(US) Ver:1.20 vs 12099 AX21(US) Ver:1.20 was different, and since then few days ago, TP-Link has released this firmware at their website, so this Build version 16262 firmware was exactly for AX20(US) Ver:1.20, and not the same Firmware with Build version 12099 for AX21(US) Ver:1.20 , even though both has the same firmware version, release date, change log, but different Build version, unless TP-Link Firmware department make a mistake.

also didn't receive Firmware Update notice at Tether App and WEB GUI for Firmware release few days ago with Fixed the FragAttacks vulnerabilities, only this Firmware.
