Installing X20-DSL to SKY
Installing X20-DSL to SKY
Hi, has anybody successfully replaced a Sky SR203 'Q' Modem Router with the X20-DSL? Is it possible. And if so how did you extract the ISP name and password. Using Wireshark but DHCP Option 61 message makes no sense. Thanks.

Update:
[Problem description]
During the setup, when you choose SKY_MER VDSL profile, the built-in configuration will be dynamic IP+VLAN 101 with no place to input your username and password.
[Solutions]
The latest APP version( IOS APP 2.9.44/ Android APP 2.9.24) was released several days ago and it has the option to input username and password under SKY(MER) profile.

Hi! My question is more, has anyone got the X20-DSL working with *any* provider/router yet . I've got a thread going where at least 2 of us can't get it to connect at all... https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/267890

@Jason105 I'm thinking of getting an X20-DSL to replace my SR203 router/modem. I assume you have tried the Sky (MER) option which is what is needed for the DHCP 61 thing, as opposed to the Sky option.
Would be good to know if this works before I buy one just to find out that it doesnt work with DHCP 61 (Sky MER).

@Shark5791 My issues were with a BT broadband modem/connection, but I'm guessing it is a similar system across the board... I've been testing some new firmware with the support team for the past 24 hours and have had no issues so far... works like a charm and set up successfully first time. Hopefully the updated firmware can be finalised and rolled out quickly to fix these connection issues.

@Shark5791 Hi, yes I tried both options. The App has the options, but TP Link telephone support confirmed the x20-DSL does not support them. I ended up plugging it into the Sky unit as a mesh with the standard x20 I have put upstairs. Wasted unless/until we change ISP. Apparently the TP Link AC2100 can replace the Sky router. Can form a mesh if needed. Downside is it doesn't have the newer WiFi6. All the best.

@Matt70 I got this from support today regarding support for Sky vs BT...
"I have confirmed this information with the R&D department. The beta on the forum is to solve the problem that other ISP ( like EE and BT ) dial-up failures cause no access to the Internet. According to the current situation, our Deco and Sky lines cannot be used together. In addition, the R&D department told me that they are already trying to solve this compatibility issue."

Hi, as far as we know, the Deco X20-DSL is compatible with SKY_VDSL, it's just the Deco doesn't support SKY(MER)_VDSL on the current firmware. This will be added in future firmware updates.

@TP-Link any idea on a timeframe for the firmware update?

@TP-Link I notice there is a new firmware release (Deco X20-DSL(EU)_V1_1.0.4_20210422) on the downloads page, but the release notes say nothing about compatibility with Sky VDSL (Mers). Is compatibility included in this firmware release or are the release notes accurate and the only two changes are of no relevance to this issue?

Hi, the firmware 20210422 still did not support Sky(MER) and the new compatible firmware is under testing now.
Please pay attention to the new firmware release on the official website.
Thank you very much.
