Model: TL-PA7017P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 3.2.4_701f14_191101_901

Hi there,

I've just moved into a new house (built in 2016) and I have Hyperoptic 500mb.

My old TL-PA411 500MB were only pushing around 90mb download so I decided to upgrade to the TL-PA7017P as they are 1000mbps but i'm only barely getting 150 download. The router is only around 20feet away from my pc so I'm baffled as to why I'm getting such low speeds?

I'm using the cables provided, should I use something else?

TP Link software shows powerline rate is around 600mbps.

Plug going straight into the wall, not a multi socket.

Feels like a wasted purchase, very disappointed! It's almost like it's being capped at 100/110, even in the early hours of the morning it's like that. My phones wifi is pushing 420mbps...

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Dougie

@Dougie184  Hello,

We have a FAQ about the Powerline Rate and Actual speed of the Powerline Adapters which may help to explain the situation:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2928/

tpPLC Utility shows the Powerline rate which is an indicator for the powerline environment, the actual speed is around 20% to 30% of the Powerline rate on the tpPLC Utility in actual household environment.

In your case the powerline rate on tpPLC Utility  is 600Mbps, if the actual speed is 150Mbps , the speed should be reasonable.

Powerline rate is basically decided by power line itself , you could check guide below and remove the factors that may affect the power line environment.
