Hi guys,

Maybe silly question. I have limited knowledge with routers so I need help :)

Is it possible to connecting MR6500v to another router as WiFi extender?

At home I have old WiFi ZTE router connected to internet  and I got new MR6500v router that I would like to use temporary as WiFi extender.

I have connected this two routers with LAN cable (on LAN ports ..not WAN), I have put new IP address on MR6500(192.168.1.222) and disabled DHCP, also I have put MR6500v in wireless router operation mode.

On ZTE( 192.168.1.1) I have reduced DHCP  from 192.168.1.2 ...to 192.168.1.200.

I keep getting "no internet connection message"

Anything more to do? Is this possible with this router?

Also I see that this router doesn't have WDS function .. or I can't find it?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Robert

@treborkrz

Hi, TL-MR6500v does not have WDS settings, and it could not be used as a wireless range extender.

But it could be used as an access point which is exactly what you have set up on the MR6500v now.

Since now, there is no internet service and please help me check the following information:

1. What is the IP address on the device they are connected to MR6500v?

2. Are you able to ping the gateway(192.168.1.1)

3. What is the model number of the  ZTE router?
