Region : UnitedKingdom

Model : TD-W8980

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP : BT Infinty

Hi

Okay, This is beyond a joke now. I have had this router sat next to the HomeHub3 (HH3) for near 6 months now and cant connect it to the VDSL BT router.

The issue with the HH3 is its well known port forwarding issues. I have multiple internet cams, remote desktops and most importantly a BuffaloNAS that i need to access from remote locations.

I see in many other forums that the TD-W8980 will work with BT Infinty setup, but can i get it to bridge to the white VDSL box and get an internet connection. Can I hell. Please help me I feel the wife is taking the brunt of my frustrations, lol.

Thanks again

Hi.
Do you still want to keep the HomeHub3 ? As I know, TD-W8980 is also a modem router and you can use it to replace the HomeHub3 .

"can i get it to bridge to the white VDSL box and get an internet connection."
Do you want to connect 8980 to HomeHub3 wirelessly? If so, you can enable WDS on the 8980.
Check this FAQ for more instructions about WDS: http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=447

If you want to connect TD-W8980 to HomeHub3 by a cable and make them work together, you can configure TD-W8980 to wireless router mode. If the LAN IP of HomeHub3 is 192.168.1.254(1~254), you also need to change the LAN IP of TD-W8980 to 192.168.2(2~254).1.

To replace HH3 with TD-W8980, you need to contact with your Internet service provider to double check your username, password, connection type, encapsulation mode,VPI and VIC.
Normally, there are four kinds of connection type, PPPOA,PPPOE, IPoA,IPoE.

After checking the information, you can login 192.168.1.1 with default username and password admin/admin and then do Quick setup settings to set up Internet connection on the modem.
If you still cannot set it up, you can call the TP-Link hotline in your region to get some more help.

Thanks Alisa

This is crazy. I'm pretty savvy (no expert though) and thesis doing my head in. BT infinity have a generic log on username and no passwrd is necessary. Although i believe you have to put something in for the tp-link to work. The problem for me is getting the bridge connection to work to the BT white VDSL box. Anyone out there got the TD-W8980 WORKING WITH BT
INFINITY?????????

Quite confused. So you still want to keep the HH3 and configure it to bridge mode, and then dial up to Internet on TD-W8980?
What settings have you done on the BT HomeHub3?
