Hi,

I recently purchased an AX50 only to realise that it doesnt support onemesh(!) and as a result my Re300 extenders are displaying the same SSID but are not meshed hence you bounce from extender to extender as you walk around the property (its a long, narrow old property).

To resolve this, i am going to repurpose the AX50 to the summerhouse as a wifi endpoint, and replace with something that does support onemesh, but i am not sure if i can mix my AC range extenders with an AX router.

If i can then great. If not then i either have to flip back to an AC router or stick with the faster AX but replace all of my extenders.

Can anyone help me work out whether i can mix and match before i spank another 300 quid??

Thx

 Hello  @TringSaint

Thank you for asking.  As long as both router and range extender supports OneMesh feature, they could build a mesh network, regardless if they are 802.11ax or 802.11ac product.

While if you use Wifi6 router and Wifi6 range extender, they have a chance of communicating with higher link speed and RE's speed could be faster.

Please check which extender or router supports onemesh feature in below link:

super - thanks for confirming. I will obtain a new router and use the current extenders for now and slowly update to AX ones in time. Thx Steve
