Access LAN ports on router in extender mode
Hello,
I have a TL-WR820N currently extending my network from a TL-WR841N located in another room across the house. I have a particular device that only works through ethernet and I'd like to connect to it using the TL-WR820N (currently in extender mode). I can only access the LAN ports when the device is in router mode and my router is updated to the latest version. Once I connect the device through extender mode I can see it is connected on the network map but it does not receive any internet connection.

Please follow this FAQ to reconfigure the WR802N into range extender or repeater mode, which allows it to connect to the host WR841N wirelessly.

@Kevin_Z My router is configured properly and is extending my network with no problem. I cannot connect a device to the Ethernet port while the router is in extender mode.

When the device is connected to the WR820N with an Ethernet cable, does it get a valid IP address assigned by the host WR841N? What is the IP and gateway on the device? If you cannot get a valid IP address, try with another Ethernet cable or a shorter one. You can also test with another client device.
What if you connect a phone or laptop to the WR820N wirelessly, will you get a valid IP address and access to the internet?

@Kevin_Z I tried connecting the Ethernet cable to a computer and a different router and it worked without a problem. When I connect the computer to the TL-WR820N through Ethernet it does not get an IP address and does not show up on the clients list. I can only see on the dashboard that the LAN1 port is occupied. If I connect wirelessly, the computer functions without a problem. Once I change the WR820N's mode to router; however, the computer appears on the client list.
I want to connect a different device instead of my computer that does not support wifi and that's why I need access to the LAN ports through extender mode.
Thank you for your support!

Just want to confirm again that the computer failed to get an IP address from the WR820N when it is connected to the WR820N with an Ethernet cable, while it can access the internet without an issue if the computer is connected to the WR820N wirelessly. Is this correct?
When the computer is connected to the WR820N wirelessly, what is the IP address and gateway? When the computer is connected to the WR820N via Ethernet cable, what does it show in the IP address status?
Can I know the current firmware version of the WR841N also? Are there any special settings on the WR841N, such as access control?
