Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20220401 Rel. 35920

Hi I have the following problem:

When the M4 in my office piggybacks off another M4 (hallway) none of our 3 laptops can connect to the M4-office.

The WIFI reception is good and the problem is NOT that i have no internet, but that i cannot connect to the wifi through M4-Office at all when it is connected to M4-Hallway. When i remove the M4-Hallway in the middle i can now connect the M4-Office, but reception is worse and downrate drops. This i not the case with any other device (iphone, android, ...).

Anyone any ideas? Because like this, this isnt fulfilling the definition of a mesh.

Thanks,
Christoph

  @No23

This is unusual. It might be an issue with mixing WiFi6 and WiFi5 Deco hardware in same mesh. It should not be, according to TP-Link, but it is worth to check.

1. Wire laptop directly to Office M4 with Ethernet cable, will it keep Internet connection?

2. Power off Office Deco. Will your laptops connect to Hallway Deco and do they have good connection?

3. Swap Kitchen and Living Room Decos, making M4 Main Deco. See Changing the Main Unit for your Mesh Network. With only M4 in the chain, does it work now?

4. Exclude X50 from the WiFi mesh by powering it off. You now have M4 only Deco mesh. Any improvements for laptops?
