Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I actually have an Archer 3150 v2 on FW 3.0.0.0.9.1 but I could not find that model in the list.

I have a couple of VansView cameras that I need to have on a static IP. Hence, I did address reservation for them (and a few other devices). However, my router refuses to give it the IP address allocated in the address reservation table. I have tried about everything from

  • Shutting down the cam until it's not in the client list anymore and then turning it back on.
  • Resetting the router.
  • Removing the cam from the address reservation table, re-adding it (using the MAC lookup tool) and giving it a slightly different name.
  • Shutting down the router, resetting the cam, restarting the router
  • Shutting down the cam and router for a couple of minutes, restart the router and wait until it booted up, restart the camera.

None of that works. How can I get this to work?

Hi,

Is there any chance that you maybe have another device within your network that also acts as a DHCP server?

I did check with ipconfig /all | find /i “DHCP Server” and it only shows one DHCP server.

Some routers allow the address reservation feature to be functional only if the reserved IP addresses are within the DHCP Server pool range. Can you confirm this to exclude this hypothesis. How about other devices in your LAN ? Do they have the same issue or this concerns only these two cameras ? Some cameras have two different MAC addresses - one for the ethernet connection and another one for the wireless connection. Are you sure you're using the correct MAC address when creating the address reservation ?

@terziyski In the DHCP Server setting I have the "IP Address Pool" set to 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.99. The address reservation is for 192.168.1.253.

Well, either expand your DHCP pool to 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.253, reboot the router, then test or if you don't want to expand the DHCP pool, use a static IP addresses for these cameras outside the DHCP pool. I presume your router's LAN IP address is 192.168.1.254 ?

There's a third option - if you want to preserve the DHCP pool as it is, just use an IP addtress in its range for the camers, reboot, then test if it works.
