Force link topology fails.
Hello community members,
I am sorry if this topic was answered already but I did not find a suitable answer.
My network topology setup:
1. Ground floor.
The Main X60 deco (an older model with no firmware supporting connection preferences) is wired to an ISP modem.
Next, X60 the same firmware version is in a Living room, and that auto-connects to the main unit.
2. First floor
Next X60 unit in a bedroom and that is auto-linked to the main unit. Fair enough.
3. Second floor
Here I bought a newer model of X60 that does support the Connection Preference feature. However, if I switch off auto-configuration and choose manually to link it to the first-floor unit in our bedroom, saving such a configuration always fails. And the mobile DECO application (v 3.5.5) anyhow hangs and needs to be restarted. If you leave the auto-connect option ON, then this unit irrationally connects to the ground floor main unit with a far weaker signal than what could be reached when opting for the first floor, the bedroom unit.
Is there a way not to use the Mesh topology but a sort of mixed one? How can I force the 2nd-floor unit to rather link to the 1st-floor unit instead far away ground-floor unit with a much weaker signal?
Thank you for any hints,
Peter
