Model: Archer C64
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: TBC

Hi TP Wizards,

I have a strange problem.

I originally had my 3 C64's all as access points, but after guidance from your good selves went for the mesh setup.

Advised topology was: Virgin Router > ethernet > TL-SG1005D WAN > TL-SG1005D LAN > ethernet x 3 > C64 LAN1 x 3 (1x main and 2x sattelite)

However, when I did this I did not have any internet.

When I went with: Virgin Router > ethernet > TL-SG1005D WAN > TL-SG1005D LAN > ethernet x 3 > C64 (1x main WAN and 2x sattelite LAN) it worked

This has been the case for weeks. However, whenever I tried to access the mesh system in the Tether app, I could not as it stated I was on a different subnet.

Recently the internet got very stuttery so I reverted back to: Virgin Router > ethernet > TL-SG1005D WAN > TL-SG1005D LAN > ethernet x 3 > C64 LAN1 x 3 (1x main and 2x sattelite)

Now the internet is absolutely flying! But in the Tether app the system shows Offline, so I cant access it at all. (Therefore cant advise Firmware version)

Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to resolve this. Its weird as the internet is great but clearly the app doesn't like something?

Hi,

When setting up the main C64 in this "DIY" AP mode, then the Tether app will only be able to find that C64 if the phone or tablet that is running the Tether app is connected to your home Mesh network. You can only manage this C64 as a "Local Device", but not as a "Cloud Device".

This could only be solved if TP-Link one day decides to make the EasyMesh feature available in the official "Access Point Mode".
