Hello,

I have recently set up a TP-Link WiFi range extender in my home. Since setting it up, I have noticed that any device (laptop, desktop computer) trying to connect to the original network (i.e. not the range extender) is unable to connect. Over WiFi it says 'Connected, no internet' and for Ethernet connections it seems to show it as an 'Unidentified Network'. Connecting these devices to the extender works fine, however this is not ideal as my device is right next to the router and I would prefer an Ethernet connection.

I am sure it is the extender causing this issue as when I switch it off the Ethernet connection immediately works fine. I have factory reset the extender and the issue still persists.

Please could someone advise what I could try here? Thank you

Hi, Welcome to the community.

There is also a beta firmware that might help with the current issue:

TL-WA850RE_V7_1.0.12_build20230607

Note: Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding!

Please install the beta firmware first and feel free to let me know whether it works or not.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi LucasGY, I am facing the exact same issue (same model as well) the thing is I thought the DHCP server on the repeater must be causing the issue but disabing it also didn't solve it. I am frustrated now, dont know what to do.

Let me know if you fixed it!!

Hello,

I have since been messing around with it trying to fix it and I believe it may be an issue with the latest firmware release. I have downgraded the extender to 850RE_V7_211117 and it seems to be okay for now.

If you haven't tried this yet it is worth a shot!

Hi @David-TP,

I think the Beta version did the job, when can I expect a stable version to be released? Could you please update the same here when it does.

Thanks for the help though.

  @Gobu_69

Hi, Thanks for the update.

There hasn't been an ETA for the official release but I am sure that I will update it here when the official firmware is ready.

Best regards.
