Model: Archer AX72   Deco M9 Plus   RE305
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2

Hello,

Please suggest optimal setup for my home as i had tried & error to get the best of my equipments. Mainly to have good internet connection at 1st floor, living room and kitchen.

House: 3 storey terrace housing

ISP: Digi Fibre 500 Mbps

Setup:

Modem at 1st floor, next to AX72 as main router.

Deco m9 at ground floor (living room) connected via ethernet cable (AP mode) with same SSID as main router (AX72). Other satellite deco m9 at the kitchen (weak signal). I have backup RE305 that can be used but unsure where to use it.

Please advise of which setup that i should use to maximise my connection

Hi, welcome to the community.

Archer AX72 could create Onemesh with RE305 but the Onemesh network is different from Deco Mesh so they will still be two Mesh networks.

In they way, it would be better to keep Archer AX72 and RE305 on the 1st floor to extend the wireless coverage, then put two Deco M9 plus units on the ground floor.

Setting the whole Deco mesh system still into AP mode would be a good choice so that Archer AX72 would be the only DHCP server and all the devices are under the same IP range.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Tq for the prompt reply. For time being i did setup as above, but deco mesh (which sit directly on ground floor beneath the main router - AX72) coincides with wifi 6 mesh. So my little problem was, when i am on the 1st floor, my phone did still connected to deco mesh which giving me slower speed as it was farther away. I had to still manually connect to the wifi 6 of AX72 to get better internet connection. My question is, should i keep the SSID of both the deco mesh & the wifi 6 OR renamed it into separate SSID?
