Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.4 + 1.2.3

I have a device that I put under my iot network and looses connection continuously. I followed suggestions on support page, I so let the network open to be sure it wasn't a security issue, but nothing changed. I found that the device is switching between two Deco's, one is far and one is closer. I decided to associate the device only to one deco, disabling the mesh support for that device, selecting a specific deco and putting connection only on 2,4GHz (I don't really need bandwidth for this device). But despite this setup, the device is still switching between these two Decos. How can I solve this? Thanks for your help, Matteo.

P.S.

The two Deco's have been purchased in different times and, so, have different fw. No update is available.

Hi, welcome to the community.

May I know the model number of the mobile device?

Does this device drop out frequently? or are you able to reproduce this issue in a short time?

Since the satellite units work the same, could you please help me run a simple test:

Switch the Deco X20_V3 with another Deco X20 V2. (You can find the hardware version on the product label) so that this mobile device will be located between 2 Deco X20_V2.

Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP thank you for your reply.

The device that is disconnecting is a Vimar 02911 WiFi Chrono-Thermostat. I switched the two decos as per your suggestion and things are a bit better. I mean, it's still disconnecting from the closest and selected Deco and connecting to the farer, but the device remains down for a shorter time. MV.

After one day it seems much better. I'll try to restore wpa2 protection with a simole password and let you know. By the way: is there a way to program decos shut-down in the night and wake-up in the morning?

Hi, Thanks for the update.

Deco X20 V2/V3 don't support power schedule yet. As a workaround, you could consider adding some Wi-Fi plugs and set up on/off schedule on the plug.

Or Deco supports reboot schedule which might help alleviate the CPU load/Memory Usage overnight.

Best regards.
