DECO X90 Mesh - Can't connect with Iphone 12 and 15 on 5Gzh
DECO X90 Mesh - Can't connect with Iphone 12 and 15 on 5Gzh
Dear TP-Link Support Team,
I am encountering a specific issue with my Deco X90 mesh system. While my PlayStation 5 connects effortlessly to the 5GHz band, my iPhone 15 fails to connect to the same band. This problem seems isolated to the iPhone, as other devices connect without issues.
Steps I’ve Taken:
- Restarted the router and iPhone.
- Ensured the latest firmware is installed.
- Reset network settings on the iPhone.
- Tried to manually force a 5GHz connection via the Deco app, which resulted in no connection at all.
Despite these steps, the iPhone still cannot connect to the 5GHz band, only to the 2.4GHz. I suspect this might be a compatibility issue between the iPhone and the Deco X90's 5GHz settings.
Could you provide some guidance or troubleshooting steps to resolve this? Are there specific settings on the Deco X90 that need to be adjusted for iPhone 15, or is this a known issue with any available workaround?
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,

Hi, Did it help if you change the wireless security to WPA2 only?
Please also confirm no iPhones are added to the Block list.
If we temporatily turn off 2.4GHz on the main network, would there be any error message when iPhone 12 and 15 failed to connect the 5GHz only main network?
Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi, Thanks for the update.
May I know the operating system of the 3*iPhones? Are they all on the latest 17.1.2?
I see you had the Deco X95 for a while. Did iPhone just stop working recently?
If the guest network is set to 5GHz only without any password, would iPhones be able to connect the guest network?
Wait for your reply and best regards.

When i set the guest wifi to 5Ghz only, the ssid is not visible by the iPhone.
It's unbelievable that X90 Deco dose'nt work with IPhone.
Is there any option to chance the 5ghz channel ?

My Solution:
I bought the DECO M5 and absolutely no problem. All my iPhones are connected to 5G with high-speed connection.
It's sad to know that a cheaper product works better than an expensive one...
