Hello,

I'm trying to get working Deco M4R (3pcs) on fibre optic internet provider with IPTV. I have configured PPPoE and IPTV on Main Deco following ISP specifications.

But ethernet backhaul don't work together with IPTV. My questions: Can i use ethernet bakhaul for 2 Deco Satelites? Wich cases are possible?

Thank you in advance

Someone I had conversation with recently have found workaround by configuring iPTV port on one of Satellite Deco instead of Main Deco. Check if you have that option with your Deco mesh.

See How to Configure IPTV function on Deco

@Alexandre. Thanks for your reply, i have the option IPTV on Satellite, but i need a Multicast Forwarder to get IPTV working. I think that is only possible in the main deco. In this topic Deco M4 multicast IPTV, wrote @David-TP "If you want to enable the IPTV service, please ensure you connect the TV box to the main Deco's Ethernet port, it cannot be in the Ethernet port of the satellite Deco."

The conversation you refer to is from 2020. In 2020, there was no option to configure IPTV port on Satellite Deco.

I think TP-Link added that option exactly for situations like yours: when someone needs to have IPTV enabled, but wants to have Ethernet backhaul to Main Deco.

Try configuring IPTV port on Satellite Deco, if you have that option. It may just work.

If it does not, from three options you listed for Main Deco M4 first two won't work. You can only have IPTV port or Ethernet link, not both. Third option, with WiFi backhaul, will work but it will leave your Deco mesh without Ethernet backhaul to Main Deco.

There is another option: get Deco unit with three Ethernet ports, such as X50 or X55, make it your Main Deco. With three Ethernet ports you can have one for WAN, another for LAN with switch and Ethernet backhaul, and third port will be IPTV port.
