Model: Archer TX20U Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi

When I change the 5GHZ wifi channel of my Access Point to anything above 149(non DFS) the adapter will not detect the wifi SSID anymore and I am unable to connect, any other device(even a 7-year-old Macbook) is detecting and able to connect to that wifi.

Those channels are improving significantly my wifi network speed so I'd like to keep thos, but the adapter only connects to 2.4GHZ and its not giving me the expected speed

Please let me know if there is anything I can do or the device does not support those channels

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Please have a look at the label that should be attached to the underside of the TX20U Plus. If you can see the letters "EU" printed next to the device's serial number, then it means channels 149 and above are not supported by this TX20U Plus. There is also no way to unlock these channels via different drivers or whatever, as this appears to be hard-coded into the device.

Mine has CA beside the serial number & I am also having problems connecting to 5 Ghz.

It detects that network but can't keep a stable connection with it.

I've used the official driver & the newer beta/RC improved driver from the TP site with the same results.

2.4 Ghz works without any problem. This wifi adaper is very buggy & thus far I really regret my purchase.

It's not a very old model yet it wasn't properly tested & has some serious issues.

It's a simple USB adapter.. get it wo work properly with Windows 11 please.
