Hi.

I'm having trouble using my router's router mode. It says there is no internet connection, however when I switch it to bridge mode the internet and wi-fi works just fine.

I had this issue previously (older firmware version) and it was temporarily solved by switching to bridge mode and returning to router mode. However, this is not the case this time.

 

Do you guys have any ideas? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

By bridge mode I assume you mean access point mode.

If you can use your AX72 in AP mode and it works that means you have a main modem/router.

If that's the case your AX72 should be able to work as expected in router mode as well, but will introduce a double NAT in your local netowrk.

Yes, I meant access point mode.

I have a main router provided by my ISP. I'm trying to run a double NAT as you said; the ISP router's IP is 192.168.15.1 and my Archer AX72 is supposed to run on 192.168.0.1. This will allow me to use the features provided by the Archer router, which are mostly not available through my ISP provided router.

As you also said, my internet should be able to work as expected but it's not.

I also should've mentioned that my router was working in router mode successfully with the same configurations as I'm using now and this issue happened after I did a reset on the main router (after that, I resetted my Archer router multiple times unsuccessfully trying to restore the internet connection in router mode).

If your main ISP router is with LAN IP address 192.168.15.1 and lets say its DHCP server pool is  192.168.15.100 -  192.168.15.199.

Set your AX72 with static WAN IP address 192.168.15.254 and for its LAN IP address use 192.168.0.1 with DHCP server pool 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199.

Of course all netmasks should be 255.255.255.0. The AX72 WAN gateway and DNS should be 192.168.15.1.

After AX72 factory reset with these settings it should work as expected.

Connect a PC to AX72 and in command pprompt ping google.com to check if the domain name reswolving works as expected.
