I have been using the tp-link AV600 for many months and got around 40-50Mbps when downloading games on PC. Today I purchased AV1000 (TL-PA7017 Kit) expecting to get better download speed however it's the same if not worse than the AV600.

I peaked 61.9Mbps with AV600 and right now I'm struggling to stay over 50Mbps with AV1000. Both are plugged into the wall socket and I have 500MB/s internet.

Hopefully someone can help?

  @CATTO

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

AV600/AV1000 is not the actual speed but the maximum powerline rate which will be shown on the tpplc utility. The powerline speed showing in tpplc utility will not reach 600/1000Mbps due to the interferes in the powerline environment.

It is suggested to refer to two articles to know more and confirm whether the speed on your PC is correct or not.

Explanation about the Powerline Rate and Actual speed of the Powerline Adapters

What should I do if internet connection is slow when the device is connected to TP-Link Powerline Adapters?

Hi thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately neither of those articles relate to the issue I’m facing. If the AV600 gets the same speeds as the AV1000 that’s pretty crazy but glad I know this now so I can return it as there really is no point paying for better speeds when they are in fact worse.

@CATTO I think the limit you got was caused by the quality of the lines, so AV1000 wouldn't help much.
Maybe you can try the 1300AV or higher, which has MIMO (the earth line is also used beside the live and neutral).
