Hello,

Can I add external antenna to my Deco to improve cell signal strength to the internal deco modem? I found that these types of external antenna are mostly sma connectors. It should work if I use a adaptor from sma connector ( external antenna)  to  rp-sma connector ( Deco)? As far I've seen that type of rp-sma antennas are used mostly to increase wifi coverage but not on gsm signal.

Can I use any of the following :

OR

OR

and using the following connector adaptor:

Main focus is to improve gsm signal on my deco in a weak gsm area.

Thank you

  @VictorVV95

Hi, Welcome to the community.

The sma to rp-sma connector would work well with the external antennas.

I think the two 5G antennas both should work with Deco X50-5G. The first one-NETGEAR 6000451 Omnidirectional MIMO Antenna - 3G/4G/5G Antenna, seems to be an indoor antennas while the second one could be installed outdoors.

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you for your response.

My main concern was not to burn some internal circuits using a sma antenna input for a rp-sma output being a reverse polarity by adding a simple adaptor. Should I pay attention to other external characteristics to avoid damaging in anyway the deco?

Thank you and have a nice day !
