Model: TL-WPA4220 KIT
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.40.20-00_422015_200108_901

Hello,

I bought the product in Turkey. Set them up and they were working fine. I go to the support page and download the firmware upgrade file which is he one called TL-WPA4220(EU)_V5_220613 that containing wpa4220v5-eu-up-ver1-0-1-P1[20220613-rel68081].bin file in it. I successfully upgraded to this version for the dedicated device. However, when i check the archive file there was no upgrade file for the base unit(TL-PA4010 V3) with the extensions of .nvm and .pib. I was suspicios and searched for them in your website and finally find an upgrade files of TL-PA4010 kit v3. I thought it is the same model and nothing can be wrong upgrading this version of the firmware(TL-PA4010(EU)V3_180914 containing 4010_3.0_EN50561-3.pib and mac-release-X.nvm files in it). It upgraded successfully but the download speed is drastically drops more than half of the speed it was before.

So, any way to return to the original firmware of the base unit? If so could send me the firmware please?

Hi,

Do you remember the version number of the firmware that was previously on the TL-PA4010 ?

The TP-Link firmware download page states that the version you have "upgraded" to is the "First firmware released". Or in other words, it is the "original firmware".

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/tl-pa4010/#Firmware

By the way, can you please verify on the stickers on the backside of your TL-WPA4220 and TL-PA4010 that they are indeed the "EU" version?

Thanks for the reply.

No sadly, I don't remember the initial firmware version. I could've check it on the tpPLC app but at the time I didn't know to do so.

The link that you gave me the one I upgraded to. I checked the label and I'm sure of it. It is the EU version TL-PA4010 V3 that comes with the kit.

What is interesting to me is that tpPLC app still shows me the speed I get before the firmware update.

However, what I get is third of it. It is like it stucks at that download speed and never passes it.

Another thing that I want to mention is there is no problem with the upload speed at all.

The plug location is the same as well. Never changed it to diagnoise better.

I'm assuming that the firmware upgrade causes the problem but I can't be sure of it.

Did you heard anything like that before?

Have any idea what going on?

I'd be greatful if you'd help me.

Thanks in advice.
