Firmware Version: 1.7.8 Build 20240719 Rel. 70981

Hello,

I have a mesh network with 3 Deco M5 units. The main unit is connected to my ISP's modem, and when I connect to that Deco M5 unit via cable or Wi-Fi, I get my full plan speed of 500 mb.

However, when I connect to one of the other units, even if it’s not too far from the main Deco, the speed drops significantly. I only get about 90 mb.

I reached out to support and saw the option to connect the main unit to a secondary one via cable, which should fix my issue. When I connect my laptop from the modem using a cable, I get 500 mb. But when I use the same cable to connect the main unit to the secondary one and try connecting through it, whether by cable or Wi-Fi, I still only get the same 90 mb.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Hi,

Please check the specification of the Ethernet cable between the main Deco and satellite Deco.

For your case, please use an Ethernet cable with CAT5e or higher.

Hello, Thanks for the response! The cable comes out of the wall, but I'm pretty sure it's at least a CAT5e. Connecting it directly to the modem to my computer I get at least 500mb. But I'm checking with the manufacturer anyways. But since it's probably not the cable, what else can I do in this case?
