Model: TL-WPA4220
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a mini nodemcu (ESP226) device for temperature measurement beyond the range of my router.

I have installed a TL-WPA4220 at the remote location which seems to work with other devices.

My temperature measurement device when powered by batteries fails to connect to WIFI when placed close to the TL-WPA4220.

If I run the device from a USP adaptor then it works fine.

I'm quite out of my depth here so any help would be appreciated.

My mobile 'phone shows:-

TP-LINK_5C90

   73 Mbps

   WPA/WPA2-Personal

   192.168.0.100

in 'connections' nearby the WPS4220

Tried changing the IP address in the device to 192.168.0.100 but still no joy.

Have seen some posts that suggest it could an encryption problem.

This sounds more like a powering issue. What kind of batteries you use to power the NodeMCU.

If this was helpful click on the arrow pointing upward to make it blue. If this solves your issue, click the star to make it blue and mark the post as a "Recommended Solution".

Thanks, I don't think its a battery issue, the same setup works fine with the base modem.

My mobile connects to the TL-WPA4220 and shows WPA/WPA2-Personal.

The base modem shows WPA PSK.

Don't know if this is significant though.
