HI All,

Hope you are well.

I recently bought and set up teh TP Link BE9300 Tri band WiFi router in the attic. It worked great, but I wanted to add more Wifi coverage, so bouth the 3 pack of the BE65 Deco units.

I am not sure i set them up right, and am thinking I have lost one needlessly.

I went through the process as described, which meant I have the wifi switched off on the router, and the 'main' deco is cabled directly from the router. Then I added the other 2 deco's as described and set them into the house proper. I have good coverage now. But I had though the decos should have been added to the router, leaving the router as the main and the 3 Deco's as satellites, no...?

So, for clarity..

Cellular modem - Router (wifi switched off) - Main Deco - 2 Satellite Deco's ( one on each end of the house)

Hi, welcome to our community.

TP-Link Archer router and Deco mesh are two different seiries. Only Deco products can set up Deco mesh network, so it does not support to configure Deco on Tether app or configure Archer router on Deco app.

If another router is necessary for you besides current three Deco BE65, it is recommended to get another Deco unit to connect them for a real Deco mesh network.

And this guide is for your reference: Can Deco Mesh, OneMesh, EasyMesh and Omada Mesh products work together?
