Model: Archer BE230
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I just purchased a BE3600 WiFi 7 Router, but I cannot get onto my NBN isp. My original router was a TP-Link VX420-G2H 6, which worked fine, until it recently died. So I bought the wifi7, I can setup the wifi, but cannot get it to connect to the internet. I bought another VX420 and it connected first go, and if I plug my 3600 into the VX420 it connects to the internet. I would really like to be able to just use my new 3600, but I am doing something wrong, can anyone please help? I am a 77year old Pensioner and I know I am a bit slow. but any help would be great.

Thankyou Rikkibear

Hi  @Rikkibear,

So your VX420-G2H should also be provided by iinet, right? Generally speaking, this kind of ISP customized equipment will have built-in internet connection information.
Please confirm the internet connection information with iinet. For example, the connection type is usually PPPOE, and username, password and VLAN ID are required. Then you need to manually configure it on BE230. Please see How to setup TP-Link Wi-Fi Router on web management page?

Hi @Rikkibear,

VX420-G2H is an Internet service provider customized device, and it is a modem router. (It has both DSL port and Ethernet port)
Please confirm whether the cable between NBN and modem is inserted into the DSL port. If yes, it means the access method is DSL connection. Archer BE230 does not have DSL port and cannot realize DSL connection.

Can you consult your ISP (Internet service provider) to confirm whether the connection method can be changed? If not, you can consider a device with DSL port or continue to use VX420-G2H.

If you need a faster help, you can contact local support or ISP support.
