Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

Just got upgraded home fiber to 1Gbps - provider router gives me 750mps in home. Deco only 250mps although in theory it can go up to 800+. Any reason why this would happen?

Deco in router mode

Setup is [ Provider Router ] > Ethernet cable > [ DECO ]

Speed of 250mps is at 5GHz standing next to the Deco, of course it drops futher out

Any ideas on the setup?

Hi, welcome to our community.

Which device did you check the speed of 5GHz band? You may check the link speed on the device as well referring to the guide and share the result screenshot here.

It is suggested to follow the guide to check step by step:

Troubleshooting Slow Internet Speed with Deco Devices

Please share the detailed results and the related screenshots of the speedtest results if you need further suggestions.

Thank you and best regards.

Check the QoS settings on the Deco -> It has an overall bandwidth setting which needs to be set high enough or it will cap to whatever it is set to. This is because the system needs to know how much bandwidth is available, so that when you set a device to high priority it knows what to limit other devices to.

Fingers crossed for a stable 1.7 release for the M4 V2!
