Virgin Superhub 2 WPS not connecting to TL-WPA4220

I have been having massive problems adding the TL-WPA4220 to my network. I can get the two TL devices to link to pair with each other. I have also tried to add a TP Link router as a wireless access point over a different powerline network and that caused the router to crash. Both WPS lights blink as they're supposed to, on the router and the WPA4220 but they never see each other.
Can someone offer some advice?
