After reading multiple forums, I've changed ports, stripped config file right back, moved between TCP and UDP and it's still connecting.

 

i don't understand why this is not an easy setup given it's one of the default VPN options via the Deco app.

How to set up PureVPN on your Deco router:

 

  1. Open the Deco App: Launch the TP-Link Deco app on your smartphone. 
  2. Navigate to VPN Client: Go to the "MORE" section, then "Advanced," and select "VPN Client". 
  3. Add a VPN Profile: Tap the option to add a new VPN profile. 

 

  1. Configure PureVPN:
    • Description: Enter a name for the connection, such as "PureVPN". 
    • VPN Type: Select "OpenVPN" from the available options. 
    • Credentials: Enter the PureVPN username and password you can find by logging in to your PureVPN account or visiting PureVPN support site. 
    • Configuration File: Download the OVPN file from your PureVPN account and upload it to the Deco app. 

 

  1. Save and Enable: Click "Save" to save the settings and then enable the VPN profile to activate the connection.

Yes, I've tried all those steps plus edited the ovpn file, changed ports to no avail.

Could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

Subject: [Forum Escalation][ID 839718]PureVPN forever connecting

(It is suggested to disable VPN Client on the Deco APP and restart the Deco hardware once; then enable VPN Client again and upload the VPN config file. After that, please log into the web UI and save the system log.

 

By the way, if you use the same OpenVPN config file on the laptop, can you successfully connect to the PureVPN server?
