How about connecting the computer to the modem directly? If having internet access, maybe you can write down the IP parameters on the computer and then try a static IP address on the TP-LINK router...

Is your modem a cable modem or ADSL one? If you modem is a cable one, you'd better try a MAC Clone on the TP-LINK Router.
