POE at IP camera NC450
POE at IP camera NC450
Hardware Version :

Hello,
I bought a camera NC450 of TP-link. The camera works fine but now i want to use POE.
I have a POE switch with 4 POE (802.3af) ports. I connect my IP camera but he don't starts up.
Is this normal? Works the camera only with the passive poe injector?
Thanks for the help
Mathias

PoE Injector - is just introduce power to device, while PoE splitter - remove it.
If stated above is correct, then, can someone please confirm that this camera can work with TP-Link TL-SG108PE PoE enabled device?
Seems it should look natural that equipment from one vendor will not have any kind of incompatibility.

No, the NC450 cannot be powered on by the TL-SG108PE, POE switch supports standard PoE while the NC450 doesn't support standard PoE.

@Marcia.Zhang Thank you for a prompt response.
I assume that current switch is Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). Ther are 2 types of PSE - Midspan and Endpsan - SG108PE is a Endspan PSE?
As well about compliance\compatibility - what type of power supply mode sg108PE provide - Moda A, Mode B or both?
Thank you.

As well, can somebody please point me out to the link, where i can find at leat short list of compatible PoE equipment (IP cameras in particular) with this or other TP-LINK's routers\switches. Usually such big companies should have something like this (explame is QNAP, Synology).

NC450 just suppport Passive PoE, you can use the Passive PoE Injector that come with it to power it on. Regarding to other cameras, they don't support POE.

Is there a switch available that can power Passive PoE devices like the NC450? Seems kind of strange to stick to Passive PoE injector. For example TL-SG1008PE?
Edit:
I think I have my answer. This site is quite clear: https://community.fs.com/blog/active-vs-passive-poe-switch.html
I think it's safer to stick to the Passive PoE Injector, it's a shame the NC450 is not active PoE..
