What is the difference between Kasa and Tapo
What is the difference between Kasa and Tapo
I have a number of TP 100 smart plugs that I control with the Kasa app and Alexa. I would now like to add some cameras. I see that TP-Link have started a Tapo range of devices that seem similar to the Kasa range, but at a lower price and needing a separate app to control them. Apart from this is there any difference in quality, ease of use or integration with Alexa, or should I just go for the cheaper Tapo cameras and put up with having to use 2 apps?
Thanks for any comments

Compared to HS100, the Tapo P100 is smaller, and the maximum load supported is lower than the HS100.
And Tapo P100 only displays the total runtime per day/week/month, while HS100 displays the current rum time and the daily average per week/month, which has more information than Tapo P100.
And the Tapo P100 supports up to 20 schedules at once time; while the HS100 supports 31.
In one word, the Tapo P100 has lower price, while the HS100 has stronger performance.
May it help.

@BogdanZ Is that true? No IFTTT?
Complete deal breaker for me, but not others I recommend to.
If I needed cheaper, I'd just use Wyze plugs. Much cheaper, great support and supports IFTTT.

Looks like the Tapo plugs have better scheduling than the Kasa ones - you can set offsets for Sunrise and Sunset triggers +/- up to 6 hours.
Edit - just learnt that is down to V1 and V2.x of the HS100 plugs, not the app itself :-(
Swings and roundabouts - sadly.

Yes, Tapo P100 has no IFTTT, but it seems it's able to work around the clock without WIFI(tested on my router for at least 8-10 hours), Kasa HS-105 can't do the trick. But Kasa can work with IFTTT though, it depends on what you need.

Kasa and Tapo work fine with Alexa at least, and that gives me the kind of scheduling I'm after - x minutes before/after sunset/sunrise, that V1 HS100s can't do.

@tpLnkUser923 sadly not, I think eveyone is more or less ceding integration and advanced features to Alexa now.
