Model: Tapo C200  
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.10

Using the Tapo app. I set motion detection on so it can record with motion. I set notifications off. Still I just keep getting motion detection notifications. I have done this now a few times and still keeps doing the same.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Could you please me check the following information:

  1. On the Detection & Alerts  page, motion detection is on but notification is off;
  2. And on the inbox, there is still notice that motion was detected right?
  3. All your smart cameras are Tapo C200 and only one of them had this issue?
  4. Have you tried to reset and set up this camera again to have a look?

Hi, 

 

You may disable the Tapo app notification on your phone, Settings->Notification, then find the Tapo app and disable it.

@smitd85 I have a similar problem, same set up with Motion Detection On and Notification Off (annoying to get the Notication question each time when leaving the config screen). But instead of getting Notifications, I get a Message in the "Inbox" of the app each time a motion is detected. Any ideas how to get rid of that? All my other 5 cameras works perfekt. Firmware 1.0.14 and same problem before with 1.0.10.

1. Yes.

3. Yes.

4. Yes, I have 6 Tapo C200 but only one has this problem.

5. The camera is on a remote location, I will do a reset when I get there in a couple of weeks. I will report how it goes.

@Brook did as you said. Once I reset it, it worked fine until we had power outage. Once power came back, same issue. In South Africa we have a lot of power interuptions, they call it load shedding.
