Need to change Wifi SSID without resetting the Cameras
Everytime when i want to change the WiFi SSID, I need to reset the camera. This is both in TAPO and VIGI Wifi Camera. Can you update the App such way that we can change the SSID without reset the camera

Unbelievable that this has been an issue for this long and for so many and TP-Link just ignores it. When I have bought the Tapos I coudn't imagine that it would NOT be able to change the WiFi SSID... Until I now, when have a need to do it.
My situation is that I have several Tapo-cameras (different models) and some are at the edge of the WiFi range. Now I thought that I solve it by buying the TP-LINK RE705X AX3000 WiFi Extender. But the extender renames the extended WiFi to <SSID>_EXT. No problem I thought; I just change the SSID in the cameras needed. But no it wasn't that easy. And resetting all needed cameras is not that easy 🤬

Hi @grimur,
I think TP-LInk are ignoring everything posted here because this thread already has an accepted solution.
I suspect they haven't closed the thread to new posts because it's a convenient sink-hole for anyone else wanting to report the same issue.
You might be better off raising the issue as a new Feature Request. At least then TP-Link would have to respond - or ACTIVELY ignore it.
That said:
I went down the wi-fi extender rabbit hole too.
I even bought some TP-Link extenders, though this turned out to be a huge mistake for a different reason.
(TP-Link do VERY weird stuff with all/any extended MAC addresses, making it almost impossible to use a MAC address "white-list" to secure the wi-fi network. You never know what "virtual" MAC address the extender will assign to a device connected to it)
However, and whilst I don't have the exact same model extender as you, the ones I bought did allow me to change the name of the extended network's SSID from the default of "_EXT". (Though you might only get chance to do that during the initial set-up, and not afterwards)

Spamming the Forum (and subsequently everyone else here who gets a notification of a new reply) is not helpful and does you no credit whatsoever!
I don't appreciate getting 11 identical emails from your fake accounts!
If you're not happy witht the situation, CREATE A NEW TOPIC! This one is not getting answers as it has been replied to back in 2024 by TP-Link staff!
