Need to change Wifi SSID without resetting the Cameras
Everytime when i want to change the WiFi SSID, I need to reset the camera. This is both in TAPO and VIGI Wifi Camera. Can you update the App such way that we can change the SSID without reset the camera

@BYTE-BUiLDERS Let's write a request to support.nl@tp-link.com
I did already.
PS
Find correct address for your country.
As an example, this is what I wrote:
Hi,
Since 2023-07-18 there is a topic on https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/615588?utm_source=Subscription&utm_medium=email named "Need to change Wifi SSID without resetting the Cameras". It is a feature request with status 'closed' but the problem was never solved.
There are many many people asking and complaining about the inability to change the SSID without needing to reset the device. Doing so would remove all settings and often these camera's are in hard to reach places.
So can you please amend the firmware to incorporate this feature?
Sincerely,

@Gooberx Indeed. My ticket was closed within five minutes with the reply it is not possible.
Yeah Tapo, that we already knew, pffff.
For me this means that I will never buy from them again.

@Solla-topee From teardown of one of your cameras, you may have chosen a SoC with reference embedded firmware. Can you work with your SoC vendor on this feature request? It seems you don't have the capability internally for this feature or possibly the API exposed to you by your vendor does not allow you to add this feature. Someone at TP Link needs to work with your SoC vendor. Not everyone leaves their WiFi credentials static for 10 years. You get over $100 a year from me for cloud services. Put part of this additional $1000 to work.

@Home_Cameras
Yes, because I have around 15-20 cameras at my shop. If my first WI-FI is down, then I will set up a backup Wi-Fi. Then, I need to reset all the cameras temporarily to connect to the backup WI-FI.
This feature very useful

When? Probably never.
I think TAPO are officially ignoring the problem because this Feature Request has had an "Accepted Solution" since 2024 (see page 1).
(It's not a good solution and it might not work, but it looks like this is all TAPO are willing to offer)

It does seem VERY curious that TAPO haven't implemented this Feature Request.
Being able to swap to a different network/router is an obvious feature for a wi-fi device.
And most wi-fi devices will list all the neighboring networks without even being prompted.
In the case of these cameras, the wi-fi selection is via the mobile app, so the choice of networks is limited only by the ones that your phone can detect - so detection of an alternate network can't be the blocking issue.
Also, the initial configuration of such devices is via Bluetooth and/or via a local wi-fi hotspot. As this already provides for the selection of an initial wi-fi network, why would it be so difficult to enable an update to a different network? If a camera can be configured to one network, then that configuration can be overwritten by a different network selection.
And anyway, the mobile app already provides two-way communication with the camera and it's settings.
It shouldn't even need a camera reboot to change the w-fi selection.
This isn't rocket science!
