Hey Everyone!

I hope you're all having a fantastic time with your gaming PCs. I need some assistance with a frustrating issue I've been facing recently, and I thought this community would be the perfect place to seek help, especially since TP-Link is renowned for its networking solutions.

The Problem: I'm having a persistent Wi-Fi connection issue with my gaming PC, and it's driving me nuts. While I'm trying to enjoy my favorite games online, I keep experiencing lag spikes, disconnections, and slow download speeds. It's practically impossible to have a smooth gaming experience in this condition. I've tried troubleshooting on my own, but I'm at my wit's end. That's why I've turned to this community for guidance.

My Setup:

  • Gaming PC
  • TP-Link Archer C4000 router
  • Windows 10
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics card

What I've Tried:

  1. Restarted my router and PC multiple times.
  2. Checked for driver updates for my Wi-Fi adapter.
  3. Moved my PC closer to the router to ensure a stronger signal.
  4. Ran speed tests to confirm the issue isn't with my ISP.
  5. Checked for interference from other electronic devices.
  6. Updated my router's firmware.

The Request for Help: I'm not a networking expert, so I'm hoping someone here can provide some guidance on how to resolve this issue. Has anyone experienced similar problems with their gaming PC? What steps should I take to troubleshoot this Wi-Fi issue further? Are there any specific settings I should configure on my TP-Link Archer C4000 router to optimize gaming performance?

I'd also like to hear if anyone has specific experience with TP-Link products and could recommend any potential router settings or firmware updates that might help.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Regards,

William

Hi, thank you very much for posting on TP-Link Community.

1. What is the hardware and firmware version of your Archer C4000?

2. What is the internet speed from your ISP modem? what about the Archer C4000 wired and wireless speed?

3. Is it possible for you to connect the Gaming PC to your Archer C4000 router via Ethernet cable? usually wired connection would be much better than wireless connection.

4. If the wired connection works fine and the issue happens with wireless connection only, please try to change the WiFi channel and channel width on the router on Advanced->Wireless->Wireless Settings page, also make sure your Gaming PC is connected to 5GHz WiFi of the router.

5. By the way, may I know how many client devices are usually connected to the router? and what are they? please make sure no other client devices are using high-traffic operation such as large file dowloading etc. when you are gaming online.

6. If necessary, you could also enable QoS on Advanced->QoS page and set gaming service or the gaming PC as high priority.
