I have a remote house in France.

I installed 4 Kasa Smart Bulbs (a mixture of KL and LB Series).

They all went off line yesterday.

Network is Huawei 4G Wifi6 router.  They are all connected through 2.45Ghz

On the same network I have 4 Tapo switches.  They still work perfectly.

On the same network I have 4 Arlo cameras.  2 connected via a hub, the hub ethernet connected to the router, 2 cameras WiFi 2.4 Ghz connected to the router directly.

Everything works perfectly.

My router is connected to one of the TAPO switches and I am able to re-boot it remotely.  I have done that 4 times now. Everything (Tapo and Arlo) works perfectly again after the rebooting is finished.

The Kasa Smart Bulbs however all remain OFF LINE.

I have deleted and re-installed the app on both an iOS and an Android device. All remains OFF LINE.

Remember, this happens at 7,000 miles away.

Is there anyone living in your house? Repeatedly turning the light bulb on and off multiple times can potentially cause the bulb to reset.

If restarting the router doesn’t resolve the issue, you may need to resort to a manual reboot (reconnect the power). It’s advisable to seek assistance from the people who has access to your remote house.

  @Wayne-TP

Thank you for your swift reply. Much appreciated

I have seen and experienced lots of issues but this one is weird.

All four KASA lamps went offline at the same time.  I can see through my cameras that ALL KASA lights are ON - day and night without changing.  Since they are offline the schedule function doesn't work.

There has been no general power drip in the house.  I get remote warning if that happens.

Each of the lamps is connected to a different circuit and 3 of them are close to the router.  The network works perfectly, both TAPO and ARLO cams work very well.

The router is rebooted at regular intervals to guarantee optimal signal reception.  This causes all device to go off line for a minute before connecting back.

You must be aware that the TAPO app was updated and now also can manage KASA lamps.  Could that possible have generated a glitch pushing all KASA lamps off line ?

Have you recently seen a surge of KASA lamps going off line?

You mention manual reboot in your suggested solution. Do you mean, just cutting the power to the lamp one time and "on" it again ?  or waiting xx seconds.  I cannot ask a stranger to disconnect the lamps from the network through a factory reset and reconnect the lamps to the wifi network but i can ask them to swith off and on the lamps.  Please advice and let me know what you think about my TAPO/KASA thinking.

thx, bruno

If there is a batch offline issue with devices, it could be due to server fluctuations, but this typically affects all cloud devices, not just light bulbs. As far as I know, there haven’t been any such incidents recently.

Manually restarting the light bulb refers to cutting off its power supply and reconnecting the power. Smart bulb will start reboot and attempt to reconnect to WiFi in this process.
