This is a must moving forward. I covered two properties with Tapo cameras and would not have invested in this if I would have known you couldn’t delete unwarned and wasted clips from the SD card

Clearly this was a decision to make cloud recording more appealing, as the implementation is trivial, however consider that there are many customers like me that will not consider buying TP Link in the future due to such decisions.

Raised this with TP-link directly this morning, and (somewhat unexpectedly!) got a reply.

Regarding the issue of not being able to delete individual videos from the camera’s SD card, we want to assure you that this feedback has been noted. Our product team is actively evaluating the feasibility of this feature. Please rest assured that it is not our intention to restrict functionality in order to encourage use of paid services, our goal is always to provide users with the most reliable, secure, and convenient experience possible.

Your comments are very valuable to us, and we have already passed them on to the relevant teams for further review and improvement.

Full marks to TP-Link for responding. Now we need to see some action 

Allow manual deletion of individual recordings within the app. Only a very few need to be saved. Easier to delete them before download than after.
