Under Consideration Manually deleting video from SD card
Just set up TC85 cameras and have them successfully recording events to the SD card. Is there a way to manually delete unwanted videos from the card using the App? Or does the until keep recording/storing files until full, then begins to overwrite the oldest one first without any way to do manual cleanup?
TIA
Phil

@MPH There are so many unnecessary recordings, it would be helpful to be able to delete them. I have been downloading anything I want to keep and re-formatting the SD Card.

@Solla-topee I think after two years and 365 replies it's about time Tapo issued a statement to say they have no intention of introducing this feature instead of keeping us all in suspense.
Be honest; your company places more importance in the revenue from subscriptions than it does on customer satisfaction.
I don't even mind that decision, but the deception of adding an SD slot so that it looks like it can work "stand alone" but then choosing not to support the normal expected function of said slot is unforgivable.

Hi,
I’m very disappointed to discover that the Tapo D210 does not allow deleting individual video clips stored on the microSD card. There is no delete button anywhere in the Tapo app for single recordings, even though this is a basic feature that should exist on any modern security device.
This creates several real problems:
- The SD card fills up with unwanted clips I can’t remove.
- The only way to clean up recordings is to delete everything or physically remove the SD card.
- Managing storage becomes frustrating and inefficient.
- It reduces the practical usefulness of the device as a security tool.
To be honest, this is now affecting my decision on whether to buy any more Tapo products. I like the hardware, but missing such a fundamental feature makes the system feel incomplete.
Please forward this to the development team. A simple “Delete” option for individual SD-stored clips is absolutely essential and should be added as soon as possible.
Thanks.

I bought a Tapo C230 camera and use a cheap Android phone. As there is no gear setting icon within the Tapo app for reformatting the micro SD card, I do the following.
To clear all recordings I go to my phone settings gear icon, select Apps and Notifications, select Tapo app, select Storage and Cache, select Clear storage.
Then I log back into the Tapo app and select the camera view and it returns to the same settings for that view with an empty microSD card. No selection for recordings to delete though, this deletes all recordings but it's quick.
