Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.6

Same problem as here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/223748

Tappo camera, very warm to the touch and stuck on red IR Leds , pressing the re set button for 5 minutes or longer has no effect.

disconecting the power for 15 minutes and re connecting again nothing .

All the help files and FAQs provided by TP link/tappo are useless:

under Help:

If the LED is off, unplug your smart device and  plug it back in

Tried that and the problem does not reolve

Also tried the re set button for 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes

unplugging and plugging back in

repeating all the above , nothing works

Update - support do not want to know  and dont care as they came back with this

"But due to the issue, our suggestion is to replace the device, but since its already out of warranty, we are not able to replacement the device."

and

"Apologize for any inconvience caused, and we can only suggest you purchase a new one on our authorized resellers.

https://www.tp-link.com/uk/where-to-buy/"

I had two more TP link cameras as yet unopened and not set up , both have now been returned to the retailer and refunded.

The faulty unit is still faulty and destined to be E waste, as from digging around online the only fix is to open the device up, solder some wires into certain points on the circuit board connect to a computer and so on.

The weird thing about the return was that someone else in the queue was also returning a tappo C200 camera that had stopped working  same fault( theirs was still under warranty/store warranty) and the staff member said they had had a few of these returned for faults over the last few weeks.

It would appear their is a wider problem here that T{P link are responsible for , and tis something that TP link should put right
