Changing wifi networks once set up?
Hey,
I have several Tapo cameras set up outside, how do I change the wifi network they are connected to currently - to another wifi network (extender) I have closer with stronger signal?

@Solla-topee I came here to join the party in 2026. I also have the same issue, you guys can solve this with a couple simple upgrades/updates. SO PLEASE FIX IT.
his is to be quite frank, SAD and EMBARRASSING for you guys.... The inability to change the wireless network on a camera that I need to get on a ladder to get to, then unscrew the back of and FACTORY RESET to CHANGE THE WIFI NETWORK! is so thoughtless and pathetic its nearly unbelievable.
FIX IT. ELEVATE IT! TELL YOUR SUPERVISORS. THIS IS F**KING PATHETIC.
FIX IT.

I have several C510W cameras: one at my house in Spain, three at my house in Brazil, and yet other three at my property in Brazil, in addition to several other Tapo devices. I bought these specifically due to tp-link's reputation.
The day came when I installed a new router and was forced to choose a different SSID, since I'm keeping the old router during the transition. I can't believe I have to restore the camera to its factory settings; it's unbelievable. At another house I have in Brazil, with two cheap Chinese cameras, it was a 30-second task; the app allows you to switch from one Wi-Fi network to another in an instant.
Still no reaction from TP-Link since this thread started two years ago. Obviously the don't care about their customers.

@Francisco_SC I am equally as frustrated as you.
I need to change the WiFi network of a camera that is remote to me, and I can't.
Reolink cameras allow this and have far superior image quality - which is why I'm switching to them.
