Troubleshooting Troubleshooting: Tapo Robot Vacuum Not Emptying When Connected To Dock

All Tapo Robot Vacuum Equipped with Auto-Emptying Dock
Understand How the Emptying Feature Works
Models of robot vacuums that come with an auto-empty dock, support auto-emptying and manual emptying via the app. If the device fails to execute the emptying task, you should first determine which component isn't functioning.
- It's essential to understand that auto-emptying only activates after the device has accumulated over 30 minutes of cleaning time. The accumulated cleaning time will be reset after the emptying operation.
- The emptying operation, whether auto-emptying or manual emptying, cannot exceed three times within a ten-minute timeframe.
- Auto-emptying will be disabled during the Do Not Disturb mode.
Note: Avoid facing the empty dock directly to the sun or incandescent light (mainly the front side)

Troubleshooting Tips
Case One. Auto-Emptying Not Working
- Make sure the Auto-Empty feature is turned on: Tapo App > vacuum's device page > Settings > Emptying Settings > Auto-Empty.
- Check whether the current cleaning task has been done for more than 30 minutes.
-
Check whether the vacuum's Do Not Disturb mode is on. The Auto-Empty function will not work under Do Not Disturb mode. Open Tapo app, enter the vacuum's device page, then go to Settings > Robot Settings > Do Not Disturb.
- Reboot (power cycle) the dock and try again.
Case Two. Manual Emptying via App Not Working
1. Try to initiate dust collection in local WiFi -- connect your phone to the same WiFi network as the robot vacuum, turn off cellular data and VPN (if any). This step is to rule out potential failure if your robot vacuum has disconnected from the cloud.
2. Avoid facing the empty dock directly to the sun or incandescent light. Try to turn off all the lighting in the room and close the curtains if it is daytime.
3. Reboot (power cycle) the dock and try again.
Case Three. Dustbin Fails to Empty Despite Dock Activation
1. Check if the dust bag is full and replace it if necessary.
2. Check the dustbin for large debris that may be blocking the inlet. If present, remove it manually.
Use Tips: To prevent recurrence, we recommend cleaning one area at a time and manually triggering the dock’s emptying function after each cleaning cycle.
3. Check if the dust channel on the dock itself is clogged. How to Clean Up the Dust Channel
